Work-related stress is one of the most common mental health challenges in the UK. Taking proactive steps helps.
Recognising the signs
Persistent tiredness, difficulty concentrating, irritability, physical symptoms (headaches, sleep disruption) and dread of going to work can all indicate work-related stress.
Talking to your employer
Employers have a legal duty of care regarding mental health. A conversation with your manager or HR department can open access to support, reasonable adjustments or a referral to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
