Frequently asked questions

Is it good to stretch every day?
Gentle daily stretching can be a genuinely good habit for most people — it helps ease the stiffness that builds up from sitting at a desk or being inactive, can improve your flexibility and range of movement over time, and many find it relaxing, making it a nice addition to a morning routine or a wind-down before bed. The key is doing it well and gently: ease into each stretch rather than forcing or bouncing into it, hold it for around 20 to 30 seconds while breathing steadily, and only ever go to the point of mild tension, never pain. A little and often is far more effective and safer than occasional intense sessions. A simple head-to-toe routine covering the neck and shoulders, back, hips and legs hits the areas that most need it. A note on timing: it's best to stretch when your muscles are at least a little warm (after a short walk or a warm shower, or gently to start), and gentle daily stretching differs from intense stretching around exercise. If you have an injury, pain, or a health condition, check with a GP or physio before starting a new routine, and stop if anything hurts.
